Scheduling for logistics and warehouses
Three shifts, seven days a week: every shift with the right people and licences, nights and weekends shared out fairly.
Everyday challenges
What makes shift planning hard in your sector.
Round-the-clock operations
The warehouse runs day and night, and every uncovered shift slows down shipping and deliveries.
Different skills
Forklift drivers, reach-truck operators, pickers: every shift needs the right mix of people.
Nights and weekends
They are the least popular shifts: distributing them badly means discontent and absences.
Absences and turnover
With staff changing often, reorganizing shifts is a never-ending job.
A three-shift distribution centre
Forty staff across picking, loading and handling, three shifts a day, Saturdays included. Every shift needs at least two forklift drivers.
- Every shift always has the forklift drivers it needs
- Nights and Saturdays are shared out fairly
- Part-time and full-time staff share the same schedule
- An absence is fixed by changing the fewest shifts possible
Let’s build it together
Your sector has specific needs. With the first partners in each sector we design and build the missing features around their real needs.
- Staffing needs calculated from forecast volumes
- Temporary and agency staff management
- Connection to time clocks and payroll software

Oravis finds the shifts left uncovered and proposes the solution that changes the fewest shifts, preferring changes on days further away and without touching anyone already on duty. You can decide the maximum number of changes you accept. The proposal is applied only when you confirm it.
How do you ensure compliance with the law and the collective agreement?
Oravis automatically applies the working-time limits you configure from your labour law and collective agreement: minimum rest between shifts (for example the 11 consecutive hours required by the EU Working Time Directive), the maximum number of consecutive working days, each person's contract hours and the rules on shift sequences, such as never going from a night straight into a morning. Every generated schedule is compliant by design.
Where is the data hosted?
On servers in Italy, within the EU, and it is processed in compliance with the GDPR. Each organization has its own dedicated instance, separate from other customers. On request, Oravis can also be installed on your own servers (on-premise).
Does Oravis integrate with payroll and time clocks?
Today you can export the schedule to Excel, PDF and iCal. Export to the main payroll software and connection to time and attendance systems are on the roadmap: if you need them, get in touch and we will design them together around your needs.
