Scheduling for care homes and nursing homes
The 24/7 roster of nurses and care assistants, generated automatically: compliant with the law, fair to the team, ready for the unexpected.
Everyday challenges
What makes shift planning hard in your sector.
Hours lost in Excel
The coordinator spends days building the monthly roster, and a single absence means starting over.
Contested nights and weekends
Who does the most nights, who works Christmas: without a visible criterion, tensions build up in the team every month.
Rest periods at risk
A Night followed by a Morning easily slips through by hand, and a rest violation is a legal risk.
Staff shortages
With lean teams, every uncovered shift weighs on the residents and on the colleagues left on duty.
A 60-bed care home
Thirty nurses and care assistants, three shifts a day, two staff with protected-leave entitlements and one new hire being onboarded. Mid-month a nurse is off sick for a week.
- The monthly roster is generated automatically, already compliant with rest rules
- Nights and weekends are shared with the same criterion for everyone
- The new hire follows their mentor’s shifts without weighing on coverage
- For the sick leave, Oravis proposes the replacement that affects the fewest colleagues
Let’s build it together
Your sector has specific needs. With the first partners in each sector we design and build the missing features around their real needs.
- Care-hours reports required by regulators and accreditation bodies
- Hours export to your payroll software
- Connection to your time and attendance system

Oravis finds the shifts left uncovered and proposes the solution that changes the fewest shifts, preferring changes on days further away and without touching anyone already on duty. You can decide the maximum number of changes you accept. The proposal is applied only when you confirm it.
How do you ensure compliance with the law and the collective agreement?
Oravis automatically applies the working-time limits you configure from your labour law and collective agreement: minimum rest between shifts (for example the 11 consecutive hours required by the EU Working Time Directive), the maximum number of consecutive working days, each person's contract hours and the rules on shift sequences, such as never going from a night straight into a morning. Every generated schedule is compliant by design.
Where is the data hosted?
On servers in Italy, within the EU, and it is processed in compliance with the GDPR. Each organization has its own dedicated instance, separate from other customers. On request, Oravis can also be installed on your own servers (on-premise).
Does Oravis integrate with payroll and time clocks?
Today you can export the schedule to Excel, PDF and iCal. Export to the main payroll software and connection to time and attendance systems are on the roadmap: if you need them, get in touch and we will design them together around your needs.
